My work concentrates on social issues affecting Latino and minority communities living in the United States. Through the framework of an ancient MesoAmerican codex, I present narrative images of class inequality, immigration struggles, and human rights violations while examining institutional systems of oppression. I try to portray the nuances of intersectional life in the 21st century through narrative pattern designs, each inscribed with multiple cultural identities and influenced by multiple cultural histories. I exhibit my work in immersive installations that apply a combination of printmaking, painting, and digital animation that showcase narratives from a Neo-Chicano perspective.
