Temporary Union

In conjunction with a Visual Artist Fellowship at the The Fine Arts Work Center.
Statement:
Temporary Union is as much concerned with recontextualizing the vocabulary of the Ancient Maya as it is with painting and sculpture. I address a temporary union between analog and digital production, between the primitive and the modern, between performer and viewer, between interactivity and passivity, between two celebrities, and the space between religious iconography. I have a deep respect for Native American expression and through the potential of their symbolic forms I reflect the concerns of the present.
